THE ULTIMATE POSE?
Clothing company Barbour has now produced what must be the ultimate wannabe jacket in the shape of the Steve McQueen MacGrain jacket. Based on the traditional 1937 jacket design, it’s a version of the original 1964 ISDT team jacket worn by Steve McQueen. It features all the usual things you expect of a Barbour such as wax material, four pockets, cord collar, but also – and get this – it’s trimmed in ‘an ancient Barbour tartan lining’ with a large picture of McQueen (which I’m pretty sure the original didn’t have…). To finish it all off, and I can’t quite believe I’m writing this, the jacket has a simulated mud-splattered design made of rubber compounded mud to match the mud marks on McQueen’s original jacket. Yes, really. Oh, and it will only set you back £499 for this piece of phoniness…

Oh FFS!!!
ReplyDeleteThe replica open face lids by Bell I like as they are , lets face it cool. They are copies of ones that were designed for him by some of the top bike painters of that era, like Von Dutch, who were also mates of McQueens... but this... a step too far ?
